1. What is The Therapist Connector?

We're a free directory that helps you find a licensed mental health professional who fits what you're looking for. Answer a few quick questions and see your results right on the page, all from license-verified professionals in our network.

2. Is this free for me?

Yes. It's always free for clients. Professionals are the ones who pay to be listed.

3. How does this work?

You answer a short set of questions about what you’re looking for, like specialty, availability, and a few other preferences. We search our network and show you a short list of professionals who fit your answers, right away. No email or account required.

4. Do I need to give you my name or email?

No. Our search doesn't ask for your name, email, or phone number, and we don't save your answers. If you choose to email yourself a copy of your results, we use that address only to send the one email.

5. Will the professionals in my results take my insurance?

Every professional in your results lists at least one of the insurance or payment options you selected. Coverage details can change, so please confirm with the professional before your first session.

6. What if I want in-person, not online?

If we don't have an in-person option near you, we'll also show you our best online results so you're not left with nothing.

7. Do you provide therapy yourselves?

No. We're a directory, not a therapy provider or clinic. Every professional listed is independently licensed, and you work with them directly.

8. How do you verify professionals?

We verify that every listed professional holds an active and valid license. We do not verify any other credentials, so please confirm anything else that matters to you directly with the professional before booking.

9. What if a professional doesn't respond?

Professionals agree to respond within 48 business hours. If you don't hear back within that timeframe, please contact us at [email protected] and let us know.

10. Why do I see fewer results than I expected?

Every professional we show you fits all of your answers. If you see only a few, or none, try choosing fewer areas of focus or loosening a preference. New professionals join every week.

11. How do I get started?

Click Find a Therapist, answer a few quick questions, and see your results right away.

12. Can I search for my child, teen, or partner?

Yes. The first questions ask who therapy is for, including children, teens, couples, and families. Your results only show professionals who work with that age group or session type.

For Professionals

1. How will you market this to help clients find me?

We're in the professional recruitment phase right now, building a strong pool of specialties and coverage before we open this up publicly. Once we launch, we're working several channels at once: paid Facebook and Google ads aimed at people actively searching for a therapist, SEO content built around real local and specialty searches, our own networks, word of mouth, and community outreach. One client is enough to cover a year of your subscription, so getting clients to your listing is something we're accountable for, not an afterthought.

2. What does it cost, and is my price locked in?

It’s $39/month, locked in for as long as you stay subscribed. Every new member gets two months free. If you join before we open to clients in early November, your free months start the day we open. You only lose your locked rate if you fully cancel. Pausing doesn’t affect it.

3. What do I get for my subscription?

Your listing appears to clients whose answers fit your specialty, availability, and location, automatically. No manual outreach on your end. You keep 100% of your session fees. We don't take a cut.

4. How does this actually work for me?

When a client's answers fit your specialty, availability, and license state, your listing appears in their results automatically. There's nothing for you to do once you're set up.

5. Why does keeping my profile complete matter?

Clients only see professionals who fit every answer they give. If a field on your profile is blank, such as Years in Practice, you won't appear for clients who answered that question.

6. How long does approval take?

Every profile is reviewed by hand, and you’ll hear back within 48 business hours. Your listing starts appearing in client searches once your profile is approved and your subscription is active.

7. How do you verify my license?

We verify your license directly with your state licensing board before your listing goes live.

8. Do I need to submit a headshot or write a bio?

No. A photo is optional and only used if we feature you on social media.

9. Can I cancel or pause anytime?

Yes. You can pause or cancel whenever you need to. Your locked rate stays as long as you don't fully cancel.

10. Do you offer any metrics to track?

Yes. Each month we email you a short summary of how many times your profile was shown to clients in search results and how many times clients clicked through to your website or booking link. It's a simple way to see how your listing is performing.

11. How do I update my profile or billing?

Go to thetherapistconnector.com/portal and enter the email on your listing. We’ll send you a secure sign-in link, no password needed. From there you can update your profile, add a photo, and manage your billing. Bookmark the page so it’s always easy to find.

12. Do you serve states other than Oregon and Washington?

Right now we connect clients in Oregon and Washington. We plan to begin adding more states in 2027. If you’re licensed in other states, include them on your profile now. When we open a state, we’ll verify your license there and you can start appearing in those searches.
